Open Call: The Summer Day in Support of Sisterhood

  • Silian Gallery 434 King's Road London, England, SW10 United Kingdom (map)

We are delighted to present our summer open-call group exhibition, The Summer Day, in support of Sisterhood—a girl-led creative non-profit that supports and uplifts young women and gender-expansive youth.

Taking its title from Mary Oliver’s poem, the exhibition celebrates the everyday and the power of quiet change through postcard-sized artworks. Each piece is a field note from a bright moment—light on a wall, a moving breeze, a colour that won’t let go—honouring the art of paying attention.

At its heart, the exhibition echoes Sisterhood’s conviction that creativity is both presence and practice: a pathway to skills, confidence, and community. Close looking becomes problem-framing; making becomes collaboration and leadership; sharing becomes voice and agency. By pairing creativity with education and girls’ rights—in step with youth culture—Sisterhood innovates and invests in programmes that open routes into learning and employment, so girls can design a world in which they can thrive. Proceeds from sales help turn these quiet acts of attention into real opportunities.
