Navigated by cross-cultural research in relation to Asian philosophy and aesthetics, Freya's practice focuses on the correlation and interconnection between humanity and the Anthropocene, earth and cosmology, nature, and spirituality. Her work is based on painting and extends to meditative painting, mixed media and texture, body art, and gestural art.

She received her Painting MA from the Royal College of Art in London and her BA from the Central Academy of Fine Art in China.
