Erica Hsu

Erica Hsu mainly uses the structures and patterns extracted from architecture and natural creatures to transform them into a hazy and ghostly visual vocabulary to explore a higher level of human spirituality.

Erica uses the obscure object as the main body of work to expose the paradox of human nature: the line between the sacred and the bizarre. Her works expose the coexistence of the and the divine, recreating a spiritual dialogue that is gradually being erased in contemporary society, with religious symbols constantly appearing in the images, in an attempt to lead the viewer into a vague but sensitive spiritual span. Continuing with the biblical interpretation of 'the body as a temple', the physical body becomes the bridge that loads the soul.
